Successful career – and now?

For years you have successfully built your career. You have made it and are at the top. Take a look around, is there room for change? You know that you can and want to achieve even more, because your career and your potential are far from exhausted. But how can you open a door again and reach for new opportunities? What else does your professional future have in store for you? Newcareer offers an individualised and modularised career counselling programme consisting of the following building blocks:
It is well known that crossing the arms can radiate rejection. But what if it is more of a power pose? Do you know how your behaviour affects those around you and what signals your expressions send? Your personality not only influences your way of thinking, but also your behaviour. Just the way you walk can tell you a lot about a person. So what can behaviour tell us? But why do we tick like that and is there an explanation for the individual actions, why we react the way we do? With the help of a psychometric tool (based on the studies of C.G. Jung) and using years of experience, our consultants develop your personality profile with you. This forms the basis of your positioning in the job and labour market. Furthermore, this assessment in career counselling helps you to better understand your competences, your motivators, your own behaviour and the behaviour of your counterpart at work.
The psychiatrist C.G. Jung C.G. Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist, an influential thinker and the founder of analytical and applied psychology. Among others, he became acquainted with the teachings of the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, which later developed into a collaboration. Jung’s most important work, Psychological Types, appeared in 1921. It focused on the personality types of introverts and extroverts and Jung described the relationship between consciousness and the unconscious. For this purpose he defined four functional types.
How can you benefit from the personality types according to C.G. Jung? By defining your own individual personality type, you can orient yourself better. You will then know where your strengths and weaknesses lie and can position yourself more specifically in the job market. For example, are you a person who does not pay much attention to details? Then the job as an analyst will probably not be in your field of interest. Do you prefer to meet new people? A job in sales could possibly satisfy this need. But do you know exactly which values are important to you and what makes you as a person? With a personality test like this and our advice, you can refine this.

Positioning

How can you distinguish yourself from your competitors who have a similar academic and professional background? What further training have you completed and what knowledge can you offer? This component of the career counselling mainly deals with your goal and your professional positioning. With the help of our consultants, you will develop your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) and design your very own communication strategy.
What is a Unique Selling Proposition (USP)? The USP refers to the exceptional skills and knowledge of an individual. Thanks to the USP, you can distinguish yourself from your competitors and stand out from the crowd. For this, you need to know yourself and your knowledge. You can refine your USP with these three questions:
  1. Who are your employers of choice?
  2. What makes you unique?
  3. What benefits do you bring to the company?
Further, you can ask yourself what you are particularly good at that your competitors tend to struggle with? What makes you special and why should a company choose you? With questions like these, you can define and narrow down your individual USP more precisely.
  • Uniqueness
  • Relevance for your target group
  • Profitability
  • Defensibility
